You might be wondering what happens after you pick out the perfect material for your project. Val and Ashley will try and set up a time for Scott to come out and template. What does that mean? What does a customer have to do in preparation for that?

Scott Haberl owner and operator of HTS will show up with all of his fancy gizmos and it will look something like this. He uses a laser to get a precise measurement and layout so that we can program our machines to cut your granite, quartz, or quartzite countertops to fit exactly. We want to do better than I need a 6 foot by 4 foot piece to fit here. With the laser, that 6 foot by 4 foot piece might end up being 6 feet 1.25″ by 3 feet .75″. The laser really guarantees precision measurements for the space you are surfacing.

In order for Scott to give you a precision measurement when he comes to template, you should be prepared to do the following:
- He needs you there during the appointment. The appointment usually lasts about 90 minutes give or take depending on the size and complexity of your project. This is beneficial to you if you are there. Scott has a great eye for detail and he has worked on too many projects to count. He might have questions and/or suggestions on how to give your project that little bit of extra punch.
- All of your cabinets need to be set at the time of templating. Because that is where your new countertop will be residing, they have to be in order to guarantee the precise measurements.
- We ask that all sinks and faucets be on site. We need to know this information for our cutouts and we want to have it right before we cut into that beautiful slab that will be your countertop.
- If you have a cooktop stove, that information must be there as well for the same reason.

Once the templating is done, no changes can be made to your cabinetry or the template itself. We often begin fabricating your countertop that same day. We know that living in a construction zone is no fun so we try and move forward with your project as soon as we have the material and the template information.
If you have any questions or concerns, we are always available to you by phone, email, or in person.
